Athletics 16-17

For use in 2017 Student Fee Survey!

At UMBC the Athletics and Recreation fee is used to fund both athletics and recreation.  This fee encompasses 40 different departments including intercollegiate athletics, recreation (club sports, intramurals, fitness programs and machinery) as well as athletic scholarships. The proposed increase to the Athletics and Recreation budget will primarily go toward increasing staff salaries and fringe benefits, RAC operating expenses, athletic scholarships (which must increase along with tuition each year), and team travel expenses. Additional RAC workers will also be hired.

For full-time undergraduates: The fee is currently $1,074 per year and there is a proposed $38 per year (3.5%) increase. This will make the total fee $1,112 per year.

For part-time students and graduate students: There is no proposed increase, meaning the fee will remain at $28 per credit hour.
