For use in 2019 Student Fee Survey!
The Parking & Transportation Fee (PTF) supports the following aspects of UMBC life:
– Maintenance of parking facilities
– Shuttle buses
– Campus program of traffic control
Due to increased ridership and the need to renew state equipment, Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) proposes a 3.1% fee increase to the full-time undergraduate PTF. The added revenue would be used to fund a shift supervisor position, a charter driver position, and improvements on the Transloc Tracking technology. Support would come in the form of (1) better statistics gathering from swipe-card readers, (2) better vehicle tracking, (3) the procurement of final destination statistics, (4) idle-time tracking, and (5) video production for new driver training programs.
For full-time undergraduates: The fee is currently $458 per year and there is a proposed $14 per year (3.1%) increase. This will make the total fee $472 per year.
For part-time undergraduate students and graduate students: the fee is currently $23 per credit hour, and there is a proposed $1 (4.3%) increase. This will make the total fee $24 per credit hour.

*Part-time undergraduates and both part-time and full-time graduate students pay student fees per credit hour (as opposed to a flat-rate for full-time undergraduates)
